Worth knowing
Watch for
Turn 1 is the main overtaking spot. Cars climb flat out past the pits, then brake downhill into the Senna S, left then right. A driver left on the outside can strike back at the very next bend.
The name
Interlagos means “between lakes”: the track sits between the Guarapiranga and Billings reservoirs. Its official name honours Brazilian driver José Carlos Pace.
The old track
It opened at almost 8 km. When Formula 1 came back in 1990, the lap had been cut to just over 4 km.
