Worth knowing
Watch for
The hairpin sets up the run to the last chicane, one of the best passing zones. Keep an eye on the wall at the chicane's exit, which has caught out many drivers.
The island
The track sits on Île Notre-Dame, a man-made island in the St. Lawrence River that was built up for Expo 67.
The name
It was renamed in 1982 after Canadian driver Gilles Villeneuve, who had died earlier that year.
